Poems To Quench Longing
“Like as a Hart”, hart being a red male deer, comes from Psalm 42:1.
In the NRSVue translation it states,
“As a deer longs for flowing streams,
so longs my soul for you, O God.”
This is my favorite Bible verse.
It expresses my longing for spiritual
nourishment---my longing for
Holy Mystery.
May this volume find a similar resonance
in your own heart as you take your
journey toward fulfillment
“Do not be afraid”
The most frequent command in the
biblical texts.
What good news!
The door to Divinity is wide open,
where we find welcoming arms
and an open heart.
Love is everywhere abundant
since Holy Mystery is love itself.
It calls us to be at peace, and to love
each other as we are loved.
May it be so.
