From St. Eeyore the dysthymic
All days are gloomy
No matter what is in the sky.
Expect the worst and you won’t be surprised*
Because the tail is likely to get lost again.
And friends don’t really know how to help—
But that is because there is no help for it.
And yet, sometimes there are glimmers.

*The concept of expecting the best does not occur to St. Eeyore, and being surprised by joy is quickly buried in the gloom.
