Meet Catherine Coates: Writer, Seeker, Soul Companion

Catherine graduated with distinction in English from the University of Rochester, but never considered writing a book, until she did.  Longing for Intimacy: Glimmers of Hope  is a compilation of poems and prayers with two main themes: her struggle with depression, and her search for Holy Mystery, the expression she uses for God. Musings on Grace is a deck of inspirational cards. Each card points to a quote or series of quotes which are followed by some questions. These provide an opportunity for further reflection. Her current project is a spiritual memoir: reworking Christian memes brought about through her recovery from fundamentalist Christianity.

On a personal note, she lives in upstate NY with her husband, Steve Martin, daughter, Carys Coates Martin, and a pomapoo pup, Gala.
